Class of Work: Earthwork and Drainage
Sealed proposals addressed to Dan Worth, Public Works Director, City of Medford, Oregon, endorsed "Medford Urban Renewal Agency – Manzanita Street Improvements – N. Riverside Ave to Court St" will be received at the office of the Public Works Director, 200 S. Ivy Street,Medford, OR 97501, until 2:00:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and thereafter will be opened publicly and read and will then be referred to the City Council.
This project is located on Manzanita Street between North Riverside Avenue and Court Street within the City of Medford and Jackson County, Oregon and includes all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to construct street, sanitary sewer, storm drain, lighting, striping, curb ramp, and sidewalk improvements.
Pay items include, but are not limited to the following: 3,153 cubic yards of excavation; 1,122 square yards of 12 inch subgrade stabilization; 6,779 square yards of subgrade geotextile; 88 feet of 6 inch storm pipe; 25 feet of 8 inch storm pipe; 652 feet of 12 inch storm pipe; 916 feet of 18 inch storm pipe; 293 feet of 24 inch storm pipe; 17 concrete storm sewer manholes; 15 type 4A inlets; 6 concrete field inlets; 8 feet of inlet galleries; 165 feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer pipe; 138 feet of 6 inch sanitary sewer pipe; 660 feet of 4 inch sanitary sewer pipe; 4 concrete sanitary sewer manholes; 194 square feet of prefabricated modular gravity retaining walls; 782 square yards of cold plane pavement removal (2 inches deep); 5,151 tons of aggregate base; 2,050 tons of level 2, 1⁄2 inch ACP; 3,620 feet of concrete curb and gutter; 703 feet of standard curb; 13,718 square feet of concrete walks; 1,491 square feet of 3 inch concrete surfacing; 455 square feet of 9 inch thick reinforced concrete surfacing; 394 square feet of truncated domes; 22 bi-directional yellow markers; 613 feet of thermoplastic striping; remove and reinstall existing signs; sign support footings; 42 square feet of signs; pole foundations; lighting, pole and arms; switching, conduit and wiring; refurbishing and reinstalling existing illumination systems; traffic signal modification; water quality facility; bioretention facility; 657 cubic yards of topsoil; 1 single mailbox support; and 3 multiple mailbox supports. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check equivalent to 10% of the proposal payable to the City of Medford, to guarantee that if a proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance secured. A Bid Bond to like effect and amount with a corporate surety will be acceptable for this project. Bids must be in writing and signed by or on behalf of the bidders.
All Bidders shall be prequalified with the City of Medford, as provided by law under Oregon Revised Statutes, prior to opening of bids.
All of the provisions of Section 279C.800 through 279C.870 ORS, as amended by Senate Bill 477, relating to wage rates to be paid on all contracts for Public Works in this state must be complied with and the statement attesting to the contractor's willingness to do so must be signed and submitted with the bid.
All bidders must state at the appropriate place in the bid documents, whether or not the bidder is a resident as defined in ORS 279A.120. A percentage increase, as determined by the Department of General Services, will be added to nonresident's bids for the purpose of determining the lowest qualified bidder.
The City of Medford programs, services and activities are open to all persons without regard to race, sex, age, handicap, religion, ethnic background or national origin.
